Ch. 9

Lou Ai narrowed her eyes.

Before she could say anything, a few more people came in from behind the old lady, two relatively young women in their thirties, and two girls who looked younger, like high school students. They were all women. It might be a small female team. There were such small teams after the apocalypse. The most famous one later was the Dawn Team at the Y City Base. However, the eyes of these people were not sharp, nor did they have the bloody aura that they should have.

It has to be said that the sight of a group of women in uniform, holding iron bars, walking in one after another had a huge impact.

At least the impact on Yang Yang and the others was huge.

Especially this group of women had no kindness towards children, and the greed on the faces of the middle-aged ladies was almost overflowing from their eyes.

They showed no sign of the caution that should be shown in the last days.

Yang Yang glanced at Lou Ai, swallowed his saliva, stood up, and said loudly: "If you say it's yours, then it's yours. We didn't see any of your people when we fought the zombies in through the main gate. You said we stole things, but these things didn't belong to you in the first place. It's ridiculous for you to say that."

A subtle confrontation formed between the two sides, and they began to confront each other.

"Little girl, you said we also contributed, otherwise there are still a few zombies in this house. You can't let us go back empty-handed, right?" A 30-year-old woman was the first to give in. She nudged the aunt and winked.

The aunt seemed to understand the woman's intention, and gave in, glaring at them: "We have to have half of the supplies."

Seeing that Lou Ai had no intention of coming forward, Yang Yang discussed it with Xia Xing and said, "Then each of you can take half."

No one has come into the noodle shop yet, and there are still a lot of supplies, including rice and noodles, vacuum-packed braised meat and sausage, salted duck eggs, half a box of fresh eggs, and thawed grilled sausages, chicken and beef. It's cold now and there's no warmth in the house, so the meat should be edible.

"Bah, it should have been done a long time ago." The aunt rubbed her hands with saliva, pushed in a shopping cart, and began to put a large number of supplies on the supermarket cart.

She looked at the remaining eggs in Yang Yang's hand, licked her lips, and reached out for them again.

"You've already taken half of the eggs, right?" Lou Ai said with a half-smile.

"You are still children and can't eat much. After a long time, these eggs, sausages, meat and other things will go bad. You might as well give them to me. We have a big family and we will definitely not waste them. I can see that you are children who are cold on the outside but warm on the inside. How can you care about me, a person half buried in the ground?" The aunt's hands kept putting supplies into her shopping cart. Seeing that Lou Ai was guarding the eggs, she turned her attention to the meat and quickly grabbed a few more pieces.

"Hey, why are you hitting people, you little brat?" The old lady covered her forehead and glared at Xia Lu.

Lou Ai looked over and saw that the first thing she did was to praise her child, whose name was Xia Lu. The child got angry and picked up a big sausage and threw it on the aunt's head.

"Auntie Qing, we agreed on half, so just take half..." Behind the aunt, two young girls frowned and remained silent. They were glared back before they could finish half of their words of advice.

"This is what we deserve. What if we take it all back?"

The aunt said firmly, and looked at the two women in their thirties, speeding up their search for supplies.

"F#ck, do you have any shame?" The crewcut-haired guy stood by the door, frowning and sneer, "Didn't Sister Lou Ai teach us that we shouldn't give in to those who keep taking advantage of us? What's more, we are just children. You adults are snatching things from us junior high school kids. I'm afraid you will make the headlines before the end of the world!"

"Who are you calling shameless?" The old lady glared at him, and snatched the basket of eggs in front of her. "Before the end of the world, you didn't make the headlines for swearing. Look at your eyes. You must have been a frequent visitor to the police station. You can tell you're not a good student. Students nowadays don't study hard, but they curse at people. And you, you dress so fancy, but you don't have a man to flirt with."

The two thirty-year-old women stood silently beside the old lady, agreeing with her words. The younger girl hesitated for a while, then grabbed her weapon and rushed to move the supplies into the shopping cart.

Lou Ai looked at the few people who had no sense of defense and squatted in front of the cabinet to look for something. She walked to the door and said, "Let her get it. We will continue. I said before that the first thing to do when entering an unfamiliar environment is to observe the surrounding environment. Caution is the most important quality for survival in the end times."

"Just like the room we are resting in, there is an air conditioner under the small window, and below that is the window on the second floor. Even if zombies suddenly block the door, we can escape quickly. In addition, this side is close to the stairwell, and the aisle is narrow, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack." Lou Ai looked at the expressions of the people in front of her.

The guy with the crewcut head leaned against the door and listened with a confused look on his face. He was the one who found that room, but he didn't expect that he had such good luck. No matter which place he found, it was a good place that was easy to defend but difficult to attack.

"Come here, everyone. The safest place in this store is the window over here. There are no anti-theft windows. Once the screen window is opened, it is the best place to escape." Lou Ai pointed in the direction where the aunt was holding the supplies. "And the most dangerous place is the corner of the cabinet where the group of women are looking for supplies. It will be the most difficult to escape if the zombies rush in from the front."

The thirty-year-old woman's hair stood on end when she heard this, and she couldn't help but glare at Lou Ai.

"You are cursing us to death. I've known for a long time that you are not a good person. Hurry up and pretend." The auntie couldn't help but curse, and her hands kept moving.

"Only by putting your own life first and thinking about the possibility that any living creature could harm us." Lou Ai called the crewcut-haired man and Xia Xing over and asked Yang Yang to activate his special ability. "Only by finding the safest place can you live longer. Oh, and one more thing, if you take someone's supplies, you will be struck by lightning. This is an act of forcing someone to die. As long as you can ensure your own safety, it's okay to be a little extreme, Auntie, don't you agree?"

"Roar!" No one was betting, the zombies had no cover, and they slammed the door open with a bang, like a tram during rush hour, roaring and squeezing into the noodle shop.

"Ah! Run!" The young girl screamed softly because she was close to the door, and they rushed out together.

"Are you crazy? This is murder, aren't you afraid that the zombies will bite you to death?"

"You damn little bastards, you are trying to kill us." The two thirty-year-old women and the aunt were frightened by the two zombies that squeezed in, and they huddled in the corner and climbed onto the cabinet. "You damn little bastards!" The aunt kept cursing Lou Ai.

The zombies squeezed in one by one, and there were more and more of them. Finally, the zombies lying by the door squeezed in one by one, until both sides of the door frame were covered with black blood.
